Julia Stegner was born in Munich, Germany November 2nd 1984. At the age of 14 she was discovered at the Octoberfest by one of Germany‘s biggest modelling agencies Louisa Models. In 2002 throughout her summerbreak she was casted for a testshoot/ covertry for French Elle. The cover was published in December 2002 and thereafter Julia decided to give her modeling career a try and take a break from school.
During the February 2003 showseason in Milan and Paris Julia was booked straightaway for all the big designers. Tom Ford who designed for YSL at that time, was even so impressed by the German newcomer that he had her open and close his show.
Furthermore he booked her for the worldwide YSL campaign. The rest is history. Julia has worked for all the Major Magazines and did numerous covers including: Italian Vogue, French Vogue and British Vogue. In 2006 a special „Julia Stegner edition“ appeared in Vogue Germany and another special edition was published in ELLE Germany in September 2019. Her extremely fast an successful career was honored in 2005 by the german publishing house Burda honoring her with the Bambi Award for the category “Shooting Star in Fashion”. In 2007 she signed the worldwide contract with Maybelline.
She was under contract for Victoria Secret from 2005-2011 and has reached every milestone in the modeling industry: walking the shows of all famous fashion houses/designers, being on the cover of the biggest fashion magazines, attending the MET gala, getting a Bambi and last but not least being an UNICEF ambassador. After giving birth to her daughter in 2014, she took things a little slower, but still remains known as an icon in the industry. Her latest campaigns include the Jil Sander fragrance campaign (2019), Zimmermann (2021) and Victoria Beckham (2022).
